Microsoft Pushes Preview of Windows 10 20H1 Dual Edition 19035

Microsoft pushed the latest Windows 10 20H1 Preview 19035 update, including fast preview and slow preview. In addition, Microsoft also released a cumulative update internal version 19035.1000 (KB4533028). There are no new changes, but they can help test the 20H1 maintenance channel.

Microsoft has previously identified Windows 10 20H1 as Windows 10 Version 2004 to avoid confusion with Windows Server 2003.

PC General Changes, Improvements, and Fixes

  • Microsoft has completed experiments on how to deliver driver updates through Windows Update. The devices involved in the experiment will no longer show the “Optional Updates” link under Settings> Windows Update. This also resolves the problem that after successfully installing the printer driver from the “Optional Updates” section. The driver still appears to be available for installation.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause fingerprint recognition (if enabled). Which would sometimes make it impossible to accidentally use it as a login option after you wake up your device from sleep.
  • Fixed an issue that could prevent some apps from launching on the first attempt to launch after resetting the app via Settings.
  • Thank you for all your feedback on the Store edition of Notepad. At this time, Microsoft has decided not to roll out this feature to customers. When we removed this change from this release, insiders may notice a few changes:

If Notepad is pin to the taskbar or Start menu, you will need to repin it after upgrading to this new version.

If some file types are set to open in Notepad by default. You will see a prompt when you try to open a file of that type again and will need to reselect Notepad.
