Tesla started production of the original Roadster electric sports car. Two years ago, the company launched the new Roadster electric supercar, but it has not yet entered mass production.
Tesla has promised that the second-generation Roadster electric supercar has crazy performance, including 1.9 seconds from 0-96 km/h and a top speed of over 402 km/h, driving 997 km per charge.
In an interview with Ride the Lightning, Tesla chief designer Franz von Holzhausen reveales that the production version will be better than the prototype: “It will be more than the product we released. Better in every aspect.”
Although sometimes not punctual, Tesla generally fulfills his promise. Elon Musk said earlier: “We will do something unfair to other cars on the new Roadster. It is much better than the second best gasoline sports car.”
However, this $200,000 supercar may take a while to actually sell. “It should be so developed, it takes more time.” Franz said, noting that the vehicle is still undergoing changes. Musk also recently said that this car is not a priority in 2020.
Even if Tesla’s new Roadster goes on sale, the car will be limited, and Tesla plans to produce only 10,000 cars a year.
