Recently, several bloggers reported that Xiaomi will cooperate with BYD to build their first electric car. But today, both Xiaomi and BYD denied these rumors naming them as fake news.

The reporters mentioned that the first car, produced by the two manufacturers, will cost 84.999 Yuan (over 13K USD). Besides, the bloggers also decided that the name of that car would be the Young People’s First Car. What’s even more ridiculous is that they also shared several images.
Today, Xu Jieyun, the deputy director of the General Office of Xiaomi Group, also posted on Weibo denying the rumors related to the first electric car.
BYD added that the content is fake, and the company has not even decided to produce this model with Xiaomi. Moreover, BYD also stated that they have evidence within the scope of law for relevant information. Thus, they are going to maintain their corporate reputation through legal acts in the future. The aim is to prevent netizens’ rumors and inform society.
