Happymodel Snapper 7 first look: Blast to fly

The Happymodel Snapper 7 is a 75 mm tiny whoop style drone. It is a blast to fly, mostly in part to its powerful 0802 19,000 KV brushless motors. It may not have the name recognition of the Mobula 7, Tinyhawk or Trashcan but it is definitely worth a look. If you are like me and you enjoy a good brushless whoop then you’ll want to take a look at the Snapper 7.

I’m a big fan of tiny whoop style drones and the seemingly endless variations of them this winter has made me a happy camper. The brushless 65 and 75 mm versions seem to be my favorites. This Snapper 7 model falls right into my wheelhouse. While it certainly isn’t a perfect quad it definitely has its niche.

The Happymodel Snapper 7 uses a Crazybee F3 flight controller and the model I received had the Frsky receiver built into it. The camera is a 700 TVL with a 120-degree field of view and is connected to a 40 channel 25 mw VTX. The Snapper 7 is a 1S drone and ships with a 450 mah LiHV battery. I definitely recommend picking up extra batteries.

The frame of the Snapper 7 is carbon fiber and the propeller guards/ducts are a shiny aluminum alloy. It gives the Snapper a nice rigid frame that has withstood quite a few crashes. The ducts will dent but do seem to reshape fairly easily. The study frame still is fairly lightweight and the quad checks in at 28.5 grams.

The Snapper 7 doesn’t have the power that the other popular brushless quads have. But that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. More power is more difficult to command and for a true beginner, the Snapper 7 is a very good option. Often you can find the Snapper 7 on sale at Banggood and even sometimes with extra batteries. If that is the case the Snapper is a solid option. While the Tinyhawk remains my favorite beginner FPV quad the Snapper 7 is also a good option.
