Today, Xiaomi held a special conference and officially released the Xiaomi Mi TV 6 Ultra and the Xiaomi Mi TV ES 2022 new TVs.
Among them, the Mi TV 6 Ultra offers three sizes of 55/65/75 inches. They cost too less and benchmark Sony’s high-end LCD flagship X95J.

Xiaomi Mi TV 6 Ultra Key Advantages
In LCD TVs, the number of backlight partitions can be described as a measure of image quality. The greater the number of partitions, the stronger the light control ability. In this sense, the Xiaomi Mi TV 6 Ultra comes with the “Star Screen Sharp Shadow” 100-level partition backlight system, which achieves a breakthrough improvement in brightness, contrast, and details of light and dark levels.
The number of 55”/65”/75” partitions is 100/224/255, respectively. And each partition can show 4096 levels of light and shade changes, giving the light ever-changing levels and details. It also supports for dynamic Alpha value optimization.
In addition, 55-icnch variant comes with a peak brightness of 1000nits, while the 65- and 75-inch variants come with a peak brightness of 1200nits.
At present, the highest recognized standard for TV HDR is Dolby Vision, which can improve the image quality through dynamic metadata. So the TV can apply suitable tone mapping in different scenes or even different frames. The Xiaomi Mi TV 6 Ultra has been the first to obtain the Dolby Vision IQ certification.
The Mi TV 6 Ultra uses a 4K quantum dot screen, which has a 120Hz refresh rate, a 97% DCI-P3 coverage, a 103% NTSC wide color gamut, etc. The calibration of the primary color screen is implemented one by one, reducing the color difference in different scenes. It supports a 6-level color temperature adjustment and it can adapt to multiple scenes, using 3D LUT film-level color correction technology. Due to the Delta E 1.5, it can be called a professional-level display.
In terms of performance, the Mi TV 6 Ultra is first released with MTK 9950 image quality enhanced chip. It supports hardware-level AI-SR super-resolution technology, can deeply analyze screen content and match a huge image database. Also, it can convert low bitrate/low resolution films.

There is also a 25mm ultra-thin subwoofer and two passive radiators are symmetrically arranged to achieve the same screen of audio and video, creating a more realistic stereo surround sound effect.
The Mi TV 6 Ultra is also the industry’s first AI dual-camera TV. The camera adopts an ultra-wide-angle design, a larger field of view, controllable lifting, and privacy protection; it supports AI gesture control, that is, move your fingers to make it play or pause.

In terms of appearance, the Mi TV 6 Ultra has an all-metal body with a high-end luxury texture, transmitted from the inside to the outside. There is a 4mm ultra-thin central base, which looks like floating in the air.
In other aspects, the Xiaomi Mi TV 6 Ultra provides an HDMI2.1 interface and supports VRR, becoming the first in the industry to pass the AMD FreeSync Premium technology certification. Thus, it is ideal for the next generation of game consoles. This TV also supports game HDR and ALLM automatic low-latency functions. So it’s logical this TV has become XBOX’s official recommended game display device.
As for pricing, the Xiaomi Mi TV 6 Ultra 55-inch version is 5999 yuan ($929), the 65-inch version is 7999 yuan ($1239), and the 75-inch version is 9999 yuan ($1548).
