Huawei Built A Lab In London, Opposite The Google

According to foreign media reports, Huawei quietly opened a new artificial intelligence research laboratory in London, England. Just opposite to the Google’s UK headquarters.

Huawei’s new office is in a prime location near King’s Cross in London. With about 60 engineers who completely focus on AI research and development. According to Huawei internal sources, Huawei is preparing to equip the lab with 200 engineers in the field of artificial intelligence research and development. The main research and development direction is the field of artificial intelligence in computer “vision”. Which enables computers to “recognize” objects or people. There are also reports that the lab is focuses on autonomous driving and the widespread use of artificial intelligence.


Huawei has not officially announced the new facility. However industry insiders have givrn invites to visit the new facility next month. It is part of Huawei’s OpenLab Global Research and Collaboration Center network. A spokesperson confirmed the existence of the lab but did not provide more details.


It is worth noting that Google’s new headquarters in the UK is opposite Huawei. The headquarters is currently under construction. Facebook’s office building will be in this area in the near future.
