Huawei officially released its first flagship smart speaker, Sound X, at the MatePad conference. The Huawei Sound X is available in a black color option and priced at 1999 CNY ($284 USD). The Sound X with Stereo Set is priced at 3888 CNY ($552 USD). As for now, they have gone on sale.
The new smart speaker is focused on offering a premium sound output. This is the reason it has been developed in collaboration with Devialet, a French audio company. It uses a cylindrical shape. However, its design concept comes from the dome of the Vienna Music Hall.
Huawei Sound X’s dual woofers use high-magnetic neodymium-iron-boron rare earth materials. It comes with the patented Push-Push symmetrical acoustic design, and SAM bass enhancement technology of the Devialet.
This product is also the first Hi-Res certified smart speaker to support 360-degree surround sound. In addition, smart spatial perception, Huawei Sound X also sports a touch-tone transmission technology. It can play music when the phone touches the speaker. When a call comes, the speaker’s music is automatically paused. Nevertheless, there are convenient functions such as a “cancel” sound.
This smart speaker is packed with a quad-core processor, 512MB RAM, and 8GB internal storage. It comes with an in-built directional anti-noise microscope. Also, it features a physical multi-function key for mute.
The Huawei Sound X wears a metal body. It measures 165mm in width, 203mm in height, and weighs 3.5kg. For connectivity, it supports WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0.
At present, Huawei Sound X and Huawei Music and Kugou two music platforms can achieve 20 million+ songs. Also, they can achieve 200,000+ Hi-Res high-resolution songs.
