IDC: China’s Tablet Market Shipped 6.14 Million Units In Q4 Of 2020

According to the International Data Corporation (IDC) Global Tablet PC Quarterly Tracking Report, the global tablet PC market performed well in the Q4 of 2020. Year-on-year growth was 19.5% and shipments were approximately 52.2 million units.

The increase in demand caused by the impact of the “new crown epidemic” has allowed the tablet PC market to reach its highest level since 49.9 million units in the fourth quarter of 2017. Compared with the global market, China’s tablet computer market shipped approximately 6.14 million units in the fourth quarter of 2020. According to IDC, a year-on-year increase was about 5.6%.

Leading manufacturers such as Apple and Huawei have continued to be out of stock since the last quarter due to different reasons. It makes difficult to meet the strong consumer demand in the year-end promotion season. Other manufacturers have relatively sufficient supply. But in terms of brand pull and product competitiveness, it is still difficult to quickly gain the favor of consumers, thus making up for the market vacancy of leading manufacturers.

In addition, accounting for Samsung ranked second with 9.9 million units shipped, accounting for 19%. Amazon ranked third with 6.5 million units shipped, accounting for 12%.
