Amazon To Launch A Food Delivery Business In India

Reuters recently quoted two people knowing the issue as saying that Amazon plans to get into India’s emerging internet food delivery marketplace. This initiative will further accelerate market competition.

Both individuals said that Amazon is working together with local partner Catamaran. And ihas started recruiting workers for new small businesses. One person familiar with the issue also said that Amazon plans to establish further support in India before mid-September.

Based on market research company RedSeer Consulting, India’s rising middle class is driving the accelerated rise of the internet food delivery market. For its service suppliers that offer this support, profitability remains an issue.

Uber established a takeaway agency in India in 2017 but has been not able to keep up with the speed of this local market leader.

Amazon established the Prime agency in India in 2016 and has supplied music and video streaming and grocery store distribution solutions in several cities in India. Analysts say that this helps send users into the Amazon takeaway services.
