Bloomberg Released Its 2019 Billionaires Index

As every year, Bloomberg Billionaires Index 2019 is out with lots of surprises. According to the list, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos continues to be on top. Next on the lineup include 70-year-old luxury goods group LVMH chairman Bernard Arnault, who beats Microsoft founder Bill Gates to be on second place on the list.

This is the first time in seven years of the Bloomberg Billionaires Index when Bill Gates has fallen out of the first two positions. According to the latest ranking, LV CEO ‘Arnold’s wealth has increased around $399 billion in 2019, the highest among everyone else included in the list. Now he’s not worth counts to be $107.6 billion, $200 million more than Gates.

The LV CEO Arnault, owns half stake in LVMH through a family company. As in 2019, the LVHM group operate seventy-five high-end brands covering all the five main areas of wine, spirits, fashion, leather goods, perfumes, cosmetics, watches, jewelry, and other high-end retail. Most well-known brands of LVHM group include Loewe, Louis Vuitton, Bvlgari, Christian Dior, Celine, Givenchy, Fendi, Guerlain, Fresh, Kenzo, etc

However, even with all the hype, Bloomberg also said that if it weren’t for Gates’ charitable donations, he would still be the worlds richest person. The Gates Foundation, run by both Bill & Melinda Gates has already donated more than $35 billion through its trust.

Amazon’s founder Bezos is at the top of the list of Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Even though his divorce with his wife, Mackenzie, was a significant financial setback, he’s still holding the position of the worlds richest man with a net worth of $125 billion. His wife Mackenzie is currently the fourth richest woman in the world.
