In January, the US government included 9 Chinese companies on the “Chinese military-related” list on the grounds of “national security”. Xiaomi was on the list as well. Subsequently, the latter filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Defense and the Department of Treasury in the U.S. District Court of the District of Columbia. A federal judge in the United States issued a preliminary injunction on the 12th local time on Xiaomi’s prosecution by the US Department of Defense. It prohibited the US Department of Defense from listing the company as a so-called “Chinese military-related enterprise” policy to take effect or implement.

Xiaomi was very pleased to see that on March 12th that the court officially prohibited the company from being recognized as a Chinese military-related enterprise and stopped the restrictions imposed by Executive Order 13959 on the company.
