In May of this year, Lenovo first demonstrated the Thinkpad X1 collapsible notebook prototype. But, there was no news after that. According to Notebookcheck’s report, Lenovo recently announced that it intends to release the Thinkpad X1 folding screen product before the Microsoft Surface Neo.
According to reports, the news was reveales in Barcelona’s Canalys channel forum. Lenovo once again demonstrated the Thinkpad X1. According to officials “it may ship in the second quarter of next year”. According to the reports this folding screen notebook is equip with a 13.3-inch 2K flexible OLED display, developed in cooperation with LG. If the news is correct, it will be a few months before Microsoft’s Surface Neo. Which was launch in the third quarter of 2020.
Lenovo’s chief operating officer, Gianfranco Lanci, said, “The hardware is ready, but from a software perspective, we still need to fix something”. Obviously, Lenovo is waiting for Microsoft to finalize the Windows 10X operating system designed for dual-screen devices.
