According to Variety, the environmental alliance “Earth Alliance” supported by Leonardo DiCaprio has promised to invest $5 million for protection Amazon rainforest.

According to the fund’s website, the Brazilian National Space Research Institute (INPE) reported that Amazon had more than 72,000 fires this year, compared with 40,000 last year.
DiCaprio said on Instagram: “The world’s largest Amazon rainforest is an important part of global climate solutions. Without Amazon, we can’t control the warming of the planet.”
The Earth Alliance is a climate change organization establish in July this year by DiCaprio, Lauren Powell Jobs and Brian Chess. It is led by an independent management team which comprises of scientists and environmentalists. Protecting ecosystems and wildlife, supporting renewable energy and safeguarding indigenous rights.
