New Huawei MateBook D Linux version went on sale

On December 3, Huawei officially released 14-inch and 15-inch variants of the Huawei MateBook D laptops. The price starts from $570.

In general, the Huawei MateBook D is a classic modern laptop with all the necessary features: a large IPS screen with narrow frames, a large full-sized keyboard without backlights, USB ports, a powerful processor and a durable aluminum case.

The Huawei MateBook D is equipped with the Ryzen processor and runs on Linux system. This device uses an anti-glare display with a 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, a 178-degrees viewing angle and a 4.8mm frame. Speaking about dimensions, the overall thickness of the Huawei MateBook D is 15.9mm, weight is 1.38kg (the specifications are theoretical values and may vary). What’s even more impressive is that this laptop has 180 degrees opening. The 14-inch version sports an 8GB memory + 512GB SSD, while the 15.6-inch version sports an 8GB memory + 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD. Both of these versions are equipped with AMD Ryzen 3500U processor and Radeon Vega 8 Graphics card.

Other characteristics of the Huawei MateBook D are Bluetooth 4.1, 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi, etc. Also, the laptop uses a lithium polymer battery. As a result, the Huawei MateBook D can continuously play a 1080P video for 9.5 hours on a full charge.  Due to its 65W pocket charger (160 grams), it takes less than 1.5 hours to charge 100% of the battery. Besides, the laptop uses 1MP front camera, camera indicator, two microphones, and video recording.

The Huawei MateBook D comes in mystic silver and space grey colors.
