Phase 4: Marvel Announces New Movies In One Breath

Today, Marvel announced the Phase 4. Of course, there have been whispers but didn’t think the Marvel SDCC 2019 panel would be packed with new MCU movies. All the newly announced movies include The Eternals, Black Widow, Shang-Chi: And the Legend of the Ten Rings, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Black Panther 2, Guardians of the Galaxy 3, Thor: Love and Thunder, Captain Marvel 2, Blade, and Fantastic Four. Holy shit.

The first from the list will come as soon as in 2020. And the last one will be in late 2021. However, there are some that didn’t disclose the launch date.

We only know the only movie that is currently filming is the Black Widow. However, not that much has been shown. We got some logos and casting announcements. Unfortunately, no trailer is available at the moment.

The Eternals will be directed by Chloé Zhao. This was the first movie to be announced. It will be released on November 6, 2020. The cast includes Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lauren Ridloff, Brian Tyree Henry, Salma Hayek, Lia McHugh, and Don Lee.

The next movie is the Shang-Chi: And the Legend of the Ten Rings (February 12, 2021). Destin Daniel Cretton has signed on to direct the movie. As a reminder, he has worked with Captain Marvel herself Brie Larson on The Glass Castle. Tony Leung will play the villain The Mandarin in the movie. Actor Simu Liu will play the eponymous hero.

The Doctor Strange now has the official title, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. This will arrive on May 7, 2021, and will also star Elizabeth Olsen. Thor 4, now called Thor: Love and Thunder, will hold a premiere on November 5, 2021. By the way, Natalie Portman will play the female God of Thunder.

Black Widow will reach cinemas on May 1, 2020. Interestingly, Scarlett Johansson returns as the ass-kicking super spy. At the same time, Florence Pugh will be joining the cast as Yelena, a “sister figure” to Natasha Romanoff.

Moreover, it was announced Fantastic Four and Blade (starring Mahershala Ali as Blade) are in development, along with Guardians 3, Black Panther 2, and Captain Marvel 2.
