It is getting closer to the Redmi K30 launch conference. Today, Xiaomi Group Vice President and general manager of Redmi brand Lu Weibing revealed information about the configuration of this handset.
According to his information, the Redmi K30 supports liquid cooling. In addition, Lu Weibing also said that in 2020 the K30 series would support dual-mode 5G. Thus, this is the first Redmi line handset with such a functionality.
As the Redmi executive said, the Redmi K30 series adopts a liquid cooling. Unfortunately, there is no clear indication of what features this technology comes with. If taking into account Lu Weibing’s words, it is still very likely that the Redmi K30 series use the Teana 1000 (5G chip released by MediaTek).
The recent collaboration between Xiaomi and MediaTek started with the Redmi Note 8 Pro. In this smartphone, they used G90T mid-range chip from MediaTek. Previously, Redmi officially stated that it would come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 series 5G phone platform. In view of the rules of the Redmi Note 8 series processors, it is possible that the K30 version is powered by the Snapdragon 7 series 5G processor. And the K30 Pro is packed with the Teana 1000 5G processor.
MediaTek has stated that the power consumption of the Teana 1000 is not a reason to worry about. They prove ARM will actually provide a better power consumption and improve performance when pushing new products. But at the same performance, the power consumption is higher than the previous generation. This is related to the fact they use the advantages of A77 core and 7 nanometers process. Compared with the A76 products, the power consumption of A77 +7 nanometers is way better. So the Redmi K30 series powered but liquid cooling is justified.
