Xiaomi is not popular in Japan. Well, it’s known everywhere but there are not many offers of this brand. But this also doesn’t mean the manufacturer ignores the Japanese market. Probably, it requires more time to conduct research for this market. We (it) shouldn’t forget that not that long ago there have been a few quite powerful smartphone makers in the face of Sony and Sharp. Recently, Xiaomi Japan’s official Twitter announced that the new Redmi Note 9S will be released on March 23.

The Redmi Note 9S is expected to be the Japanese version of the Redmi Note 9 Pro. Thus, we are dealing with a mid-range handset sporting a quad-camera module on the back. This phone will also be the second smartphone sold by Xiaomi in Japan. The first was the Xiaomi CC9 Pro (Note 10).
The Redmi Note 9 Pro previously released in India uses a full 3D curved glass body with a symmetrical design and a 6.67-inch FHD+ punch-hole screen on the front. It also adopts an unusual solution – the fingerprint recognition module is placed on the side. Under the hood, it carries a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G + LPDDR4X + UFS2.1 hardware combination. However, there are a few storage variants of 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB.
As for the camera, there is a 48-megapixel main lens + 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens + 5-megapixel macro lens + 2-megapixel depth-of-field lens combination. At the same time, the hole on the screen hosts a 12-megapixel single-camera. The rest of the noteworthy features include a 2x2MIMO WiFi, integrated Z-axis vibration, and 3.5mm headphone jack.
