The iPhone 12 mini is a high-performance smartphone launched by Apple for small screen users. Unfortunately, the phone does not seem to have a broad market. Due to weak demand, Apple’s supply chain will stop production of the phone in the second quarter of 2021.

JP Morgan analyst William Yang also believes that due to weak demand, Apple’s supply chain will stop production of the iPhone 12 mini in the second quarter of 2021. His prediction may come from previous data. And it indicates that the sales of the larger iPhone 12 models are much better than the smaller models.

iPhone 12 mini sales
Another Morgan Stanley report stated that due to weak demand, Apple cut the production of the iPhone 12 mini by 2 million. Due to its growth momentum, Apple will focus on the iPhone 12 Pro. Previous data also showed that from October to November, the mini version sold the worst among the four smartphones in the United States.
Another reason why the smartphone may not appeal to consumers is Apple’s other low-priced products. Users can buy iPhone SE and iPhone 11 at lower prices. These two phones are currently very popular in the United States. They accounted for more than 50% of the total iPhone sales in the United States in the third quarter of 2020.
