The Xiaomi MIX FOLD‘s model is M2011J18C. Recently, a Weibo blogger revealed that Xiaomi has other folding screen models that will hit the market this year. Moreover, models with under-screen cameras will arrive in the fourth quarter.
The whistleblower said that the Xiaomi MIX FOLD facelifted model (M2011J18S) had leaked. The engineering machine still has a 90Hz refresh rate screen, uses a 108MP main camera + 3x zoom liquid lens + ultra-wide image combination, but did not disclose more information.
Xiaomi had previously developed a foldable product code-named argo. We believe that this may be Xiaomi’s first model to provide an under-screen camera. Another whistleblower claimed that argo and J18S are the same devices. This simply means that Xiaomi’s next foldable phone may be equipped with an under-screen camera.

Prior to this, we reported that under-screen camera smartphones will become available in the second half of the year. Xiaomi has already announced that they achieved the mass production stage of the third-generation under-screen camera technology. And though this statement was issued in August last year, we still haven’t seen any product gone on sale.
Xiaomi’s third-generation under-screen camera technology uses a new self-developed pixel arrangement and a redesigned pixel drive circuit. Due to them, the light transmittance of the front-facing part of the screen is further improved. Due to the camera optimization algorithm, the shooting effect of the camera under the screen is basically the same as that of the conventional front shot.
