In the first week of September, we are waiting for a few top brands to announced new smartphones. OPPO is among them as well. However, this time, OPPO will uncover the new Realme Q series. Though the company calls it a new line, we know the Q naming refers to the already-launched and yet-to-be-released Realme 5 smartphones.

The new Realme Q series will be announced on September 5. The company has already confirmed this will be based on the Realme 5 Pro launched in India recently. In other words, the Q models will be the international or/and Chinese models of the Realme 5 devices.
As for today, Realme CMO officially announced the detailed configuration of the Realme Q on Weibo. It turns out our protagonist is equipped with a Snapdragon 712 SoC. Thus, it is going to be a quasi-flagship model with a quite powerful performance. The chip will be paired with a UFS 2.1 flash memory and 4035mAh battery supporting VOOC 3.0 20W flash charging through a Type-C interface. Of course, we are already familiar with these features, but it’s quite nice to see such a set of parameters on a device under a thousand yuan. The Realme executive also said there will be a quad-camera with a Sony IMX 586 CMOS.
In addition, the Realme Q has passed through the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology certification. The front side uses a 6.3-inch LCD waterdrop screen with a resolution of 2340×1080. Its thickness is only 8.9mm, while the weight is 184g. But the battery capacity is said to be 3950mAh.
The Realme Q is coming to compete with the Redmi Note 8. So which one you choose?
