This afternoon, Xiaomi held a press conference in Xiaomi Science and Technology Park. At the event, the company officially released the Redmi Note 8/Redmi Note 8 Pro new smartphones. The 4GB + 64GB version costs 999 yuan ($140), the 6GB + 64GB is at 1199 yuan ($168), and the 6GB + 128GB variant is available at 1399 yuan ($196). They will go on sale on September 17.


Note 8 Hardware
The Note 8 is equipped with the Snapdragon 665 processor and the third generation AIE engine. Under the hood, it also carries the 4000mAh high power battery, which supports 18W fast charge. There are also Type-C, infrared remote control, and 3.5mm headphone jack. The sound quality has been upgraded. The phone uses 1217 ultra-linear speakers with 0.4mm maximum amplitude.



On the front, the Redmi Note 8 uses a 6.3-inch full-screen. It uses a 3d quad-curved design. The screen is also covered with the fifth generation Corning Gorilla Glass. The display parameters are impressive as well: 1080P resolution, 90% screen ratio, low-blue certification of TÜV Rheinland, etc. Plus, the screen fingerprint area is 30% smaller than the previous generation.
