This afternoon, Redmi officially released the new Redmi Note 9 Pro / Pro Max in India. They come with a Snapdragon 720G chip and sells for 12,999 Rupees ($175).

We learned that the new Redmi Note 9 Pro Max uses a full 3D curved glass body with a symmetrical design and a 6.67-inch FHD+ punch-hole screen on the front. It adopts a side fingerprint recognition solution and is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G + LPDDR4X + UFS2.1 hardware combination. There are a few variants of 6GB + 64GB / 128GB and 8 + 128GB.
The SND720G (SM1725) uses an 8nm process and is designed as an 8-core Kryo 465 (2 x A76 + 6 x A55). The main frequency is up to 2.3GHz, and the CPU performance is improved. 60%, probably for mid-range gaming phones. It integrates Adreno 618 GPU, and its performance is 75% higher than Adreno 616 on Snapdragon 712.

According to the officially announced results, the Snapdragon 720G AnTuTu scored more than 280,000 points, slightly higher than the Snapdragon 730.

On the back, it carries a 64MP main + 8MP super wide-angle + 5MP macro + 2MP depth of field quad-camera combination. And on the opposite side, there is a 32MP single camera. The phone supports 2x2MIMO WiFi, integrated Z-axis vibration, and comes with other features, including the 3.5mm headphone jack, the battery of 5020mAh, and a standard 33W fast charge support.

It is available in three colors of interstellar black, aurora blue, and glacier white.
The Redmi Note 9 Pro is similar to Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. And it has storage variants of 4GB + 64GB / 6GB + 128GB.

Price and Availability
In terms of price, the Redmi Note 9 Pro 4GB + 64GB version is priced at 12999 rupees (about $175), the 6GB + 128GB version is 15999 rupees (about $216); the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max 6GB + 64GB version is priced at 14999 rupees (about $202), the 6GB + 128GB version is 16999 rupees (about $229), and the 8GB + 128GB version is 18999 rupees (about $256).
It will be officially released on March 25.
Interestingly, this handset is not going to be launched in China. Lu Weibing said that the Redmi Note 9 Pro series is currently only planned to be sold in overseas markets. Its market positioning is 4G thousand yuan flagships for the global market.
