Earlier this month, the Xiaomi Cetus passed the audit and certification of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. However, Xiaomi has not reported more information about this device with the M2011J18C model number.
Today, Weibo blogger Digital Chat Station revealed that this machine is Xiaomi’s first flagship folding screen. The blogger also added that Xiaomi’s under-screen camera model was postponed to the second quarter. As we posted before, the new Xiaomi folding screen will be available before the Xiaomi tablet.
Xiaomi Cetus Performance
The Xiaomi Cetus does not have openings on the front. It guarantees a large screen with high refresh rates, good performance, and high-pixel lenses.
According to The Elec Korean media, Samsung Display is currently developing foldable OLED panels to supply OPPO, Xiaomi, and Google. Smartphones using these panels will be launched within the year.
Furthermore, the DSCC founder and CEO Ross Young mentioned that Xiaomi will probably launch three folding screen smartphones in 2021. They are the outer folding type, the inner folding type, and the clamshell type, which are the three mainstream forms. In addition, the outward-folding design is similar to Huawei Mate X, which means that the size will be larger than that of the other two.
The screen refresh rate of the Xiaomi Cetus folding screen smartphone is 90Hz (engineering machine), but it can reach 120Hz. Besides, it uses Samsung’s latest UTG flexible glass technology. Among them, the new Xiaomi folding screen, codenamed Cetus, supports a 108MP camera, and will likely run MIUI12 based on Android 11.
