Xiaomi’s First Foldable Phone Will Be Launched This Year

Xiaomi’s first foldable phone will be released soon. This new machine is rumored to be called the Mi MIX 4 Pro Max. The screen is supplied by Huaxing Optoelectronics. The machine will adopt an external folding solution similar to the Huawei Mate XS. The screen area of ​​the machine after folding can reach 6.38 inches.

We have seen many forecasts that foldable smart phones will dominate in 2021. So, as one of the major domestic manufacturers, Xiaomi wants to keep up with the pace of other smartphone manufacturers.

The Xiaomi phone with the model number  M2011J18C passed the audit and certification of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology last month. However, it  has not released more information. In this regard, a Weibo  blogger revealed that this machine is Xiaomi’s first flagship folding screen smartphone. The blogger also revealed that the Xiaomi’s first foldable phone will come before the Xiaomi tablet. It will come with a larger screen size and provide a good performance. Moreover, it  supports high refresh rates and comes with high-pixel lenses.

In addition, Samsung Display is currently developing foldable OLED panels to supply OPPO, Xiaomi and Google. Smartphones using these panels will be launched within the year. Xiaomi is expected to launch three folding screen smartphones in 2021. They use the outer folding type, the inner folding type and the clamshell type. These are the three mainstream forms at present.

In addition, the design of the outward-folding model is similar to that of Huawei Mate X. So the size is larger than the other two models. In addition, the screen refresh rate of the Xiaomi’s first folding phone is 90Hz (engineering machine), but it can be 120Hz. It uses Samsung’s latest UTG flexible glass technology. Among them, the new Xiaomi folding screen, code-named Cetus, has a 108MP camera.
