Recent reports have revealed that Vivo is gearing up to launch the Vivo V17 smartphone in India. In terms of the specs and rear design, it will be the very same Vivo V17 phone that had gone official in Russia recently. However, it may sport a different front design. Several Indian publications have revealed invites for a V-series launch event on Dec. 9. It is likely that the Vivo V17 may go official on the said date in India.
The invite for the launch event but claims that the invite confirms on the arrival of a V-series phone with a punch-hole display. As shown in the image below, the display has a punch-hole placed at the top-right corner. The Dec. 9 date is also mentioned in the invite.
The Vivo V17 phone that went official in Russia has a waterdrop notch display. However, a recent report had revealed that the Vivo V17 will be sporting a punch-hole display. Hence, it appears that the V-series phone with punch-hole that will be announced on Dec. 9 could very well be the Vivo V17.
The Vivo V17 will have a diamond-shaped quad camera module on its back with the Samsung GM1 48-megapixel primary lens. Placed inside the punch-hole of the phone will be a 32-megapixel selfie camera. Vivo V17 is expected to offer Super Night Scene not only for its rear cameras, but also its front camera will be equipped with it. Hence, it will allow the Vivo V17 to capture impressive selfies in low-light conditions.
The other expected features of the Vivo V17 include 6.38-inch S-AMOLED display with in-screen fingerprint reader, Snapdragon 665 chipset, 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage and 4,500mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. It will come loaded with FunTouch OS 9.2 UI based Android 9 Pie OS.
