Xiaomi Mi 11 bugs

The Most Annoying Bugs Of Xiaomi Mi 11

The first smartphone with the Snapdragon 888 flagship 5G chip was the Xiaomi Mi 11. It was Xiaomi’s second premium smartphone after the Mi 10 series. As you understand that interest towards this handset has been huge. On the first day of the sales, the phone sold out the first batch completely. The next launches had the same fate. But the first impression of the customers may have a great impact on the phone’s future, if not telling on the company’s future. As for the Xiaomi Mi 11, users’ first impressions were not unequivocal. Some of them were reporting about the issues related to the MIUI performance, some were saying the audio had some problems, some were saying the call recoding function didn’t work on some ROMs, etc. Of course, some of these ‘issues’ and bugs were impersonal, while the others were a matter of taste and habits. Moreover, many bugs were fixed quickly via system updates. And below, we have collected the most annoying bugs of the Xiaomi Mi 11.

MIUI ads (MIUI performance, in general)

If you are a Xiaomi user, we guess the most annoying thing is the MIUI ads. So not accidentally, many users still complain of this. But if you want to give a deep deep cleanse, here’s how you can do it.

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Navigate to Passwords & security > Authorisation & revocation.
  3. Here you’ll have to disable msa.
  4. After this, scroll down a bit and disable GetAppsas well.
  5. You’ll get a 10-second warning message, asking you if you’re sure you want to do it.
  6. After the countdown, press Revoke. In case it doesn’t let you toggle it off in the first go, (which shouldn’t be the case), try it again till it’s off.
  7. Even if you reboot your phone, MSA should still be disabled.

Call recording bug

The owners of the first Xiaomi Mi 11 smartphones were reporting about the buggy call recorder. Later, we learned that this feature seemed to be disabled for the European ROM. But just a couple of days ago (on March 27, 2021), we got feedback from many users saying that this feature works properly. So we guess it was fixed through the latest update.

Bad performance in low light conditions

The Xiaomi Mi 11’s camera is not as powerful as that of the Mi 11 Ultra and Mi 11 Pro, but it is a true flagship phone and comes with a great camera. Unfortunately, the biggest shortcoming of the Mi 11 was considered to have a poor performance in low light conditions. However, in early February, Xiaomi pushed a system update that changed the version to MIUI 12.0.22. And the latter fixed many bugs, including the one mentioned above. In fact, the overall camera performance was improved a lot.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Battery life bug or endurance bug

The Xiaomi Mi 11 comes with a 4600mAh battery. But the first batch models were reported to drain much power than expected. Many were thinking this may be related to the 120Hz mode of the screen. But even after switching to a lower refresh rate mode, the phone continued consuming much power. Fortunately, the bug was related to the background apps management system and the manufacturer fixed it in the first updates.

Audio bug

Some users prove that the Mi 11 makes strange noises when listening to music. But this happened only in certain conditions. Say, the Xiaomi Mi 11 has had an audio bug when users put pressure on the back during the audio playback.

In fact, this is one of the most serious ‘bugs’ of the Xiaomi Mi 11. But it has an objective reason. The manufacturer has customized and optimized the internal structure. As a result, there is a special cavity inside the back cover to provide a stereo dual speaker effect. This ensures a better bass and low-frequency audio performance. So you don’t have to compress much the back of the phone. If you have such a habit, it’s recommended to use a protective case.
