Xiaomi AX3600 Router Features Announced

Earlier, Xiaomi has confirmed that the Xiaomi Mi 10 will support Wi-Fi 6. At the Xiaomi 10 launch conference on February 13, the new generation of Wi-Fi 6 router, the Xiaomi AX3600 will also debut simultaneously. Ahead of the upcoming conference, the core specifications and configuration of this router have been announced.

Today, Xiaomi officially revealed three core selling points of the Xiaomi AX3600:

  1. High speed;
  2. OFDMA technology;
  3. MU-MIMO technology.

It is reported that the Xiaomi AX3600 dual-band concurrent theoretical rate reaches 2976Mbps. The OFDMA technology allows the router to send data to multiple terminal devices at the same time. And the transmission is more efficient. In addition, MU-MIMO technology allows multiple antennas of the router to serve multiple devices at the same time, making the connection smoother.

Not only that, the AX3600 has six high-performance external signal amplifiers. The 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands come with two and four external high-performance signal amplifiers, respectively, for longer signal transmission and stronger wall penetration.

Under the hood, the AX3600 is equipped with a Qualcomm 4-core A53 1GHz enterprise-grade professional chip. It has stronger processing power and more stable operation. This is also the first router to use this enterprise chip for the consumer market.

The 802.11 series standards released by IEEE can be divided into 6 generations so far. The latest 802.11ax is the Wi-Fi 6, with a maximum throughput of 9.6Gbps. It is 2.7 times that of Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac, released in 2012). It is 16 times Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n, released in 2009).

In addition to the overall increase in transmission rate, Wi-Fi 6 also supports TWT technology, which saves power. Compared with 802.11ac, in high-density scenarios, such as railway stations, airports, and stadiums, it can increase the average user throughput by 4 times.
